District Profile
Inverness Forest Improvement District (the “District”) is a water control and improvement district created by the 59th Legislature in 1965 and confirmed at an election held within the District on June 17, 1965.
The District is comprised of 705 acres and serves approximately 515 connections. Additionally the District also provides security services in the District. The District is located in north Harris County, approximately 20 miles north of Houston’s central business district, and lies wholly within the exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City. The District is bisected by Cypress Creek Parkway. The District is generally bounded on the north by Cypress Creek, approximately 1 mile east of the intersections of Cypress Creek Parkway and Interstate Highway 45, and approximately generally just to the west of the Hardy Toll Road.

Board Members
The District is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five (5) Board members elected by the registered voters of the District, who manage and supervise all affairs of the District. Board members must either own property within the District or be a registered voter within the District. Each Board member is elected to serve a staggered, four (4) year term. The District’s current Board members are as follows:

- Dale Speas, Secretary, Term Expires: November 2026
- Don Townsend, Assistant Secretary/Tax Compliance Officer, Term Expires: November 2026
